The Denver Barbarians nearly staged a successful coup on Saturday afternoon, but a late try and conversion helped the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club escape with a 39-38 win at Aspen’s Rio Grande Park.
It was the final home game of the regular-season schedule for the Gents in Rocky Mountain Rugby Premiership play, although the top seed at the end of the eight-game fall schedule will get to host the RMR final in November.
