Jr Gents play well against Bryntirion of Wales!

Jr Gents v BryntirionOn Saturday, July 12th, the Junior Gents traveled to Denver to play Bryntirion, a Welsh touring side.

The game was played at Infinity Rugby Stadium in Glendale, just outside of Denver.

The vastly more experienced team from Wales played a dynamic and fluid game that resulted in a 31 to 13 victory for the Welsh but not before the Juniors crossed the opposing line twice and impressed with their powerful running, particularly from the Martinez brothers, Felipe and Fabian.

Influential skipper, Matt Williams was rested before his All American High School Rugby Camp.

Bolstered by a few members from the 2013 team, the Junior Gents, played with great commitment and defended strongly before counter attacks by Jake Gentry, Robert Hiles and Wiehan Pretorius set up scores for Caiden Sorrensen and Wiehan Pretorius.

The Bryntirion coaching staff commended the Junior Gents players on their skills and commitment, presenting next year’s Jrs Captain, Jake Gentry, with an inscribed tankard as a keepsake.

The Juniors are hosting an academy team from Colorado Springs at Wagner Park on August 3rd.  This will be an Under 16s game and all are welcome to try out.  Contact Gary Williams at gatw3259@yahoo.com for more details.
